Who we are:

Ucan Financial Services Limited of Poolstock, Wigan, WN3 5DU is authorised and regulated by the Financial Conduct Authority (“FCA”) with Full Authorisation to conduct credit related regulated activities (“FCA registration number 747173”). Ucan Financial Services Limited is authorised to trade under the following trading names; Ucan Car Credit, Ucan Cars, Bripark Cars and Bripark Motors.

Ucan Financial Services Limited (“Ucan”) is a credit broker. This means that we will arrange finance for you to buy a car supplied by us for your personal use and in doing so will introduce you to our pre-selected lenders. Please note that Ucan is not a Lender ourselves but use a panel of lenders to introduce finance options to you.

We are registered with the Information Commissioner’s Office; registration number ZA184302.

This privacy policy describes how Ucan protects and makes use of the information you give the company. Ucan operates three websites; www.ucancarcredit.co.uk, www.ucancarcredit.uk and www.briparkcars.co.uk. It is Ucan’s policy to respect your privacy regarding any information we may collect while operating our websites.

If you are asked to provide information when using our website, it will only be used in the ways described in this privacy policy. The terms set out in this policy apply to any information you give us from time to time and to any information you have provided.

What type of personal information do we collect?

(c) Details of transactions you carry out with us.

(d) Your credit history, where you have applied for credit or where one of the lenders on our panel have agreed to provide credit to you.

How we use this data

Collecting this data helps us understand what you are looking for from the company, enabling us to deliver improved products and services.

• To gather data required for our panel of lenders to take credit decisions where you have applied for credit or where one of the lenders have agreed to provide you with credit
• To obtain a formal offer of finance for you
• To detect and prevent fraud

• To monitor and/or record your telephone calls and electronic transactions in order to accurately carry out your instructions; assisting in improving our services

• For market research and providing you with information via mail, telephone or other means about Ucan and its products or services from time to time and analysis in order to assess and improve our business.

• To contact you in response to a specific enquiry;
• To customise our websites for you

What is the legal basis for using your personal information?

Your data may be shared with finance companies to obtain an offer of finance for you. We may also pass your data onto companies who offer additional insurance and warranty products.

We will act proportionately and responsibly when we process, transfer or disclose your information and we will act strictly in accordance with the Data Protection Act 2018.

Your data may also be shared with other entities within our group of companies to include sharing your data with third parties who provide a service to us or our group.

Where you order a vehicle through our website, we may share your information with Our Group companies and third parties who are involved in the processing of your order and your finance application; the supply of the vehicle to you.

We may from time to time contact you about products and services available from Ucan which we believe may be of interest to you. We may do this by post or by phone unless you have told us in writing not to; and by e-mail, text or other electronic means if you have told us in writing that we can. You can tell us in writing at any time if you change your mind.

We will remain responsible for the way in which we and our group of companies and our agents and sub-contractors use your personal information. However, some of the third parties involved in aspects of your online order, our suppliers will also be data controllers of your personal information and will process your personal information in accordance with their own privacy policies. You should obtain and review copies of these privacy policies.

We may also share your personal information with third parties where we are required to do so for legal or regulatory purposes; identity or credit checks, or for the prevention or detection of fraud.

Please note that, other than the third parties listed in this Privacy Policy, we will not disclose or sell your personal information to any other third party for marketing purposes.

Where you apply for credit we will tell you, where permitted by law, if a decision is made about you relating to your credit scoring or eligibility for our products or services solely using an automatic decision making process. You can then request a review by us of the decision using other means.

We use your personal information in accordance with our Privacy Policy and will fully comply with all applicable UK data protection legislation (including the Data Protection Act 1998). Where will we store your personal information?

Please be aware that the transmission of information via the internet is not completely secure. Although we will do our best to protect your personal information, we cannot guarantee the security of the personal information transmitted to our website and any transmission is at your own risk. In addition, once your personal information has been received by us, it will be stored on our secure server and we will take all reasonable measures to keep it secure and prevent unauthorised access to it. Your personal information may be passed to and used by companies within the Ucan group and its agents and sub-contractors who administer or process the information on its behalf. We will respond to you within thirty days of receipt of the request and there is no charge for this service. You may also request from us details of the credit reference agencies and fraud prevention agencies with which we may have carried out searches. If there are any inaccuracies in the information we hold about you, please notify us of this in order that we may correct the information we hold about you.

Important: Marketing opt out

We may send you information about similar products and services which may be of interest to you, this product information will be sent to you by email. If you do not wish to receive information this way please send an email to [email protected] and we will remove you from our records.
